Welcome back! The heat is quickly approaching Texas (it’s already here for a lot of us), and we need to discuss how we’re keeping our hair healthy and moisturized without breaking the bank. Let’s face it, although justifiable, it’s tough to spend a pretty penny on hair moisturizer. So we’re going to be talking about ways to make your own hair moisturizer at home! These suggestions are great ways to keep your hair from frizzing, cracking, and drying out. But most importantly, they’re cheap!
I bring up heat and the summer, but moisturizing your hair is actually important year round. During the summer you sweat, jump in chlorine pools, use excessive amounts of hair products (which include alcohol) to keep your “do” from falling, and the heat gives your hair a beating. In the winter, the wind and the cold does the same thing it does to your skin. It dries it out and causes it to be brittle and damaged. But moisturizing can help remedy these blistering months!
There are a couple different styles of moisturizers. First, you can dilute some of these suggestions with water, put the ingredients into a spray bottle, and spray it on your hair. Most of the time with these, you’re going to leave it in your hair for maximum moisturizing. The second approach is a hair mask, which you basically rub all through your hair and onto your scalp. This can be a bit messy, but you wash it out in the shower, so cleanup is easy!
For the first do-it-yourself hair moisturizer, we’re suggesting aloe vera, coconut oil, and avocado oil. Throw an ounce coconut oil, 2 ounces of aloe vera gel, and a teaspoon of avocado oil into a spray bottle. Dilute it with about a ½ cup of water and shake the bottle! Spray that concoction into your hair, let it dry, and go about your day. This will keep your hair from drying out and breaking, and it also has a nice aroma to it!
Essential oils are all the rage right now. And they’re proven to help with thousands is conditions, from the flu to, you guessed it, keeping your hair healthy. Lavender oils help with hair growth and thickness. Jojoba oil is an oil that mimics your hair’s natural oil, which keeps it healthy, while adding strength and softness. So we’re going to take half a cup of coconut oil, 3 teaspoons of shea butter, 2 teaspoons of jojoba oil, and 5 drops of lavender essential oils. Put all these ingredients in a spray bottle, shake it up, and spray it liberally into your hair and leave it! This is a great leave-in moisturizer for overnight and also on the go!
So what about hair masks? First, take a raw egg and a tablespoon of olive oil, beat them together, and there you have it. A simple, yet effective hair mask that you can apply to your hair for 30 minutes before washing it out with shampoo and conditioner! You’ll kill unwanted bacteria in your hair and lock in that moisture with the olive oil!
Next, try using an avocado, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of olive oil (to lock that moisture in again), and 1 tablespoon of loose peppermint tea! Mix those together in a bowl and apply it to your scalp and ends! You’ll immediately feel the refreshment of the peppermint and the soothing avocado and honey working your ends.
These are all great DIY hair moisturizers to keep your hair thick, healthy, and undamaged. But if you’re hair is excessively thinning, or you’re gradually noticing more and more hair loss, Apollo Hair Replacement of Dallas/Fort Worth offers and expansive catalog of other ways to help you keep your hair… or replace it! If you’re struggling with hair loss and these moisturizers aren’t quite enough for you, contact Apollo today for your free consultation!
The Masters… truly a tradition unlike any other. And it’s here! This week is Masters week, but no worries, we’re sticking to hair topics. It’s one of the greatest events in sports, but not only because of the money purse, the high profile athletes, or the most exclusive golf club in the world. It’s one of the greatest events because of the tradition that goes into it. Augusta National is one of the hardest places to visit, and almost impossible to actually play a round out there, no matter how hard you try. And believe me, I’ve tried. But I digress. So how could hair and golf possibly be related? Well, there are a few things that correlate between hair and golf. Let’s talk about ‘em!
Hats. Everybody likes a good hat. And it’s part of the golf attire. Hats help block the sun while you’re shanking golf balls off the tee, keep your hair in check during a round, and you can even clip ball markers to the bill! But what a lot of people don’t think about is the damage that hats can do to your hair. A round of golf takes about 4 hours (unless you’re Jordan Spieth, then it takes like 6 hours). So wearing a hat for 4+ hours at a time, multiple times, can cause significant damage to your hair! Your hair is a living, growing part of your body. Think of a brick on grass. If you leave a brick in your front yard all day, then remove it, the grass beneath it will be a different color, matted down, and on the verge of dying. The same goes for hats, but in a less dramatic fashion, and takes much longer than a day. But constantly wearing a hat has the same effect over the course of months and years. Try playing a round without a hat. You can wear sunglasses to block the sun, and apply sunscreen to your forehead and face to help protect your skin! Or you pull a Bubba Watson and rock that sweet visor to save damage to your hair! There are definitely options.
Next, the elements. Again, a round of golf is a long time outside. You sweat, get dirty (especially if you’re playing from the sand traps all day like me), and it could be windy, hot, and about a thousand other things. The dirt and sweat clog your pores on your scalp and can cause negative effects to your hair and hair growth. Windy rounds of golf can give your hair a beating, and so can the hot sun! We talked in another blog about keeping heat off your hair during the summer months, and this pertains to that same scenario! Be sure to condition your hair to strengthen it, so you can brave those hard Texas elements when golfing!
Whether you’re a scratch golfer or can’t break 100, your hair matters. If your hair is thinning, if you’re going bald, or if you’re just noticing more damage to your hair, Apollo Hair Replacement of Dallas/Fort Worth is here to help. We offer free consultations to discuss how you can manage your hair, and we offer multiple ways to keep your hair healthy, thick, and even regrow what you’ve lost! Keeping your hair beautiful is also a tradition unlike any other.

It’s April! That means it’s getting hot in Texas, which means sweat, dirt, oil, and grease in your… pretty much constantly. The Texas heat can really put a beating on your hair. Mostly, your hair can dry out and become damaged to to the heat and dirt. But you can remedy that dry hair to prevent breaking, damage, and, of course, hair loss!
The first thing you want to pay attention to during the summer is over washing your hair. Think about something else you wash, like clothes. If you take a black t-shirt, and you wash it every single morning for 3 months, you’re going to end up with a damaged, stretched out, and probably more of a gray-ish shirt at the end of those 3 months. The same concept goes for your hair. If you wash it every single day, you’ll cause damage to your hair and could even cause hair loss. We recommend washing your hair every other day. Unless, of course, you end up in a mud pit somehow… then definitely wash your hair. Just be mindful of how often you wash it! Did you know some people only wash their hair once a week to keep it healthy?
Next, choose the right shampoo. There are shampoos for almost every type of hair, including thin, greasy, dry, etc. When you go shampoo shopping, pay attention to what kind you buy, read the bottles to figure out if it’s the right one for you, and then don’t use it every day because, remember, we aren’t washing our hair every single day this summer! Don’t be afraid to splurge a little when buying the right shampoo. It’s worth the cost!
Do you flat iron or curl your hair? Try turning the heat down when getting ready. High heat can already damage your hair, but then when you bake under the Texas sun, it causes even more damage than your hair tools. It’s also good to just braid it or go all natural some days to back off the heat a little bit. There are thousands of hair styles you can sport so you don’t damage those beautiful locks. Even taking colder showers can help keep your hair healthy when the heat is seemingly inescapable!
Finally… condition, condition, condition! Conditioners help moisturize your hair and your scalp. It’s like hair lotion! Again, make sure you buy the right conditioner for your hair, and don’t worry about spending a little extra. This is a huge factor in keeping your hair healthy and undamaged during the summer months!
Is your hair already thinning from heat or too many summer days? Is it damaged or beginning to fall out more frequently? Apollo Hair Replacement of Dallas/Fort Worth can help you with all of your hair thinning needs!
Don’t wait until it’s too late, call Apollo for your free consultation!
Male-pattern baldness. Something that, for some reason, with all of our technology, we can’t find a hard and fast cure for. Of course, there are remedies and treatments that work in a lot of people (queue Apollo Hair Replacement of Dallas/Fort Worth!), but there is no exact “cure.” Male-pattern hair loss (MPHL) affects over 50% of men over 50, and about 50 million more Americans of all ages each year. So what do you do? Do you go full-on The Rock and Bic it? Too bad we aren’t all 6’5, gigantic movie stars that can pull that off. Do you go with Prince William’s move and just not do anything and own the thinning? Or do you maybe consider the Donald Trump style toupee/comb over? Please don’t do the last one. Apollo Hair Replacement has much better replacement methods! So let’s talk about what to do.
There are different types of hair loss in men, with MPHL being the most prominent. There are two types of male-pattern hair loss. Anterior hair loss consists of hair loss beginning with a receding hairline and moving back toward the crown of your head. Conversely, vertex hair loss is where you start losing hair at the crown and it moved toward your hair line, usually causing thinning and hair loss on the entire top of your head. All of this happens hereditarily, and when male hormones begin to change as you get older.
To treat MPHL, you have a wide variety of options at Apollo Hair Replacement of Dallas/Fort Worth.
Typically, treatments start with a topical treatment such as minoxidil (Rogaine) or biotin, or some kind of spray, ointment, or shampoo that helps stop the thinning of hair and can actually regrow hair.
Another effective method is laser hair therapy. Apollo Hair Replacement uses the HairMAX Laser Comb to stimulate hair follicles, strengthen existing hair, and prevent further thinning. It’s a great method to hair loss, and especially male-pattern balding.
Our expertise is in hair replacement, which is a fantastic method of treatment for hair loss in both men and women. When we speak of “hair replacement,” we are speaking of a specific non-surgical hair loss solution. When we speak of “hair restoration,” we are speaking of a specific surgical hair loss solution, also known as “hair transplant surgery.” Though the two terms are often used interchangeably in the hair loss industry, they are absolutely two different solutions.
Also known as non-surgical “hair systems,” these high-end toupees are typically comprised of some sort of extremely durable mesh base that is colored to match your skin tone. High-end European hair (or Asian hair for Asian clients and Indian hair for Indian clients) is tied to this mesh base using special knotting techniques that not only fasten the hair to the base, but also allow the knots to disappear on the base giving the illusion of growing hair.
And finally, the hair transplant surgery that consists of taking healthy hair and strategically planting it into your scalp for a natural look. Doing this helps the hair “take root” and will actually continue to grow over time. It’s a great way to get a fuller, healthier head of hair and remedy the dreaded MPHL.

When people think of hair loss or balding, they usually think of men. And while, yes, it is much more common in men, it’s pretty common in women as well. Female-pattern hair loss (FPHL) is a hereditary condition that affects about 30 million American women, according to the America Academy of Dermatology, and is the most common kind of hair loss that we treat at Apollo Hair Replacement.
Typically, each time a normal hair follicle is shed, it is replaced by hair that is equal in size. But in women with female-pattern hair loss, the new hair is finer and thinner. It’s basically a more miniaturized version of itself, and as the hair follicles are shrinking, they eventually quit growing altogether.
Any woman can be affected by hair loss, but it is usually more common in:
Women older than 40.
Women who have just had babies.
Women who have had chemotherapy and other certain medications.
Women who often have hairstyles that pull on the hair roots or use harsh chemicals on their hair.
Most people lose between 50-100 hairs a day, with an average of about 80. However, if you’re consistently losing 150 hairs or more per day, then it is considered significant hair loss. Typically, when that happens, some hairs aren’t growing back and this is the onset of FPHL or a reactive issue.
When it comes to hair loss, there are so many potential triggers, making it harder to figure out exactly why your losing hair and which approach to take to remedy it.
On the genetic side of things, it’s a hereditary condition where you can use topical treatments, laser hair therapy, or even a hair transplant. But there are other reasons as well, called reactive hair loss. Reactive hair loss is your hair’s reaction to a crash diet, cutting carbohydrate or protein, or using chemicals on your hair. Your hair can react poorly to improper nutrients in your diet, and obviously to harsh chemicals. But it doesn’t happen to everyone, and it’s important to figure out why your hair is falling out in larger volumes and at a quicker pace than it normally should.
Apollo Hair Replacement of Dallas/Fort Worth has been specializing in women’s hair loss solutions for more than 30 years. We offer multiple solutions, including our popular hair replacement solution. But we also offer hair transplants, the HairMAX laser comb, topical treatments and more. Let’s pinpoint why you may be losing more hair than you should during a free consultation!

Okay, we’re through the first quarter of the year, and you’re still carrying a little holiday weight. Time to hit the diet hard. But which diet will you choose? Paleo? Keto? Atkins? Weight Watchers? Almost any diet is going to be healthy for you (don’t starve yourself, please), but did you know that each diet you go with, no matter which one you choose, could have an effect on your hair? It’s crazy to think about, but these diets each could cause you to lose hair! So let’s talk about it…
So how does a diet affect your hair growth/loss? That’s insane, right? No. It’s the truth! Your hair is a living part of your body. So what you choose to do with your body, as far as nutrients intake goes, will have an effect on your hair. To keep healthy hair, you need a balanced diet, without the shock factor of cutting out certain nutrients out of nowhere.
Unfortunately, most people don’t know that a healthy diet often doesn’t include all of the nutritional requirements needed for optimum hair growth, thickness, strength and volume. The Keto Diet cuts carbohydrates almost entirely, and while cutting carbs can cause a drastic change in hair growth, and even cause hair loss, most of the time cutting carbs will result in temporary hair loss. The good news here is that it’s mostly temporary.
Another diet that affects your hair is those that consist of mainly of fruits, vegetables and salads, with only minimal amounts of protein and calories. Omitting protein is a huge factor in hair loss, as your hair needs the nutrients from protein to remain healthy and strong. On the other hand, diets that are high in protein and fat, with little or no carbohydrates (such as Keto or Atkins) causes issues with hair growth. The hair cells, as well as the cells throughout your body, need a balance of proteins, complex carbohydrates, iron, vitamins, and minerals to function, grow, and stay healthy.
To keep your hair healthy and strong, you should eat three meals a day, including breakfast, with a primary source of protein and a portion of carbs.
Diets are a tricky thing. Everything you decide to do with your body causes a chain reaction with another part of your body. When you choose your diet, make sure you do some research to figure out how it will affect your hair. If you’re already balding or have thinning hair, the last thing you want is to make your weight loss goal, but lose even more hair.
There are remedies though! Apollo Hair Replacement of Dallas/Fort Worth offers laser hair therapy, topical treatments, the HairMax Laser Comb, hair replacement, and even hair transplants! Choose your diet, lose the weight, but keep your hair!

It’s already March, and that means spring, great weather, patio drinks, and, of course, March Madness. While all of those upcoming scenarios are worth looking forward to, let’s do a deep dive into March Madness, brackets, buzzer beaters, and… yes… balding. March Madness is arguably one of the best sporting events in the world. 68 college basketball teams battle it out over the course of almost a month to claim one of the most coveted trophies in college sports. But what does that have to do with hair and baldness? Let’s compare ‘em!
Basketball is a sport where you don’t wear hats, helmets, or anything that covers your hair. So if you’re a balding basketball player, especially on national television, you’re leaving it all out there for the world to see. And that may be fine for some people. Others might hate it. Let’s look at some balding basketball players. LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Manu Ginobli, Michael Jordan…. They were (or are) either balding or decided to shave it off due to receding hairlines, thinning crowns, or just losing it completely. Unfortunately, we can’t all look at cool as Michael and Kobe. LeBron is trying though, and it isn’t working. His hair plugs that he got a couple of years ago have already given way, and his hair continuously fades. But guys like these play (or played) on live television twice a week in the NBA. They had to deal with their hair loss issues by shaving their head. But there are other options, so let’s put together a bracket!
Probably the most popular or well-known fix to hair loss is minoxidil (or Rogaine). We’ll give this process the #4 seed in our bracket. It can be effective in all types of people, both women and men. It’s a topical treatment in the form of shampoo, and you rub it on your scalp every day when you shower. It helps reduce DHT in your scalp. DHT is the hormone that causes hair loss. It’s a great remedy for hair loss!
Coming in hot at #3 in our bracket is hair replacement! This is a non-surgical method to hair loss that involved wigs. The wigs that Apollo Hair Replacement of Dallas/Fort Worth offers are so realistic that most people can't tell it isn't your own natural hair, even when running their fingers through it! As the name suggests, it is entirely cosmetic, meaning non-surgical. And although at first glance it may just seem like a really, really high quality wig or toupee, it's in fact a one-of-a-kind custom fitted hairpiece carefully crafted especially for you using real human hair.
#2 in our hair loss remedy bracket is laser hair therapy! Last hair therapy uses soft laser light levels to stimulate hair follicles and energize hair, not only reducing thinning and hair loss, but actually helping it regrow! It’s pretty amazing, and it’s also completely painless, safe, and FDA approved!
And finally, the big dog, and the #1 seed in our bracket… the hair transplant. This is a popular one, but it’s more of a last resort kind of procedure. It works great, but can sometimes be a little more money than people are willing to spend. It’s a surgical procedure where we take healthy, full hair from your scalp and transplant it into the balding areas. That hair continues to grow over time and gets you back to having thick, beautiful hair.
There are so many options for preventing or reducing hair loss, and even regrowing hair. Which one of these seeds in our bracket will be your winner and take home the trophy?
Don’t be like Kobe and shave your head. Beat the buzzer and contact Apollo Hair Restoration of Dallas/Fort Worth today to get your free consultation!
Have you tried topical methods for hair restoration, such as shampoos, oils, or creams for your scalp? Have you tried prescription medicine like finasteride? Have you felt like you’ve lost all hope in regrowing that beautiful hair you once had? Well, worry no more! There are still more ways to treat thinning hair and baldness without going with the full hair replacement route! That other way is LLLT… or Low Level Laser Therapy!
Low level laser therapy is safe, proven way to stimulate hair follicles and regress the loss of hair, and even regrow it! This process works for both men and women who are impacted by hair loss, and it’s a great way to see quick results via technology rather than ingesting medicine or rubbing creams on your scalp. So how does it work?
LLLT consists of delivering low light energy to your scalp, which increases blood flow and stimulates hair growth. There are multiple ways to apply the laser therapy, but the HairMax Laser Comb is Apollo Hair Replacement’s most efficient method. The comb teeth separate the hair while simultaneously applying the laser light, allows the laser to penetrate the follicle and stimulate it more effectively. This isn’t thermal energy or heat, and it virtually painless! It’s a comfortable, fairly quick process that our customer’s have raved about. Low level laser hair therapy completely safe and fully complies with federal standards for laser safety set by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The results are proven through a 12 week program, with initial results showing within the first 6 weeks! You’ll notice thicker hair with more volume, allowing for a better styling process in your everyday “getting ready” routine. So what other benefits does LLLT provide?
Reduces hair loss in 8/10 patients
Fuller, thicker hair
Promotes stronger, healthier hair
Increases blood supply to the scalp after the first treatment
Repairs damages hair
Avoids daily topical treatment
Stimulates hair follicles
…and much more!
LLLT is available for both men and women experiencing and suffering from hair loss. However, it’s not a quick fix. It requires patience, discipline, and sticking to a routine. If you haven’t had any luck with topical treatments, or if you just want to try laser hair therapy before any of the other treatments, Apollo Hair Replacement of Dallas/Fort Worth is the place to go! We offer free consultations and expert advice on how to proceed with treating your hair loss and getting your life back!

Hair loss affects over 60% of Americans, and it eats at your confidence, stress levels, and much more. On many occasions, people seek out prescription drugs to remedy their thinning hair or recently discovered bald spots. However, many doctors are hesitant to hand these out due to pills not only affecting your hair, but your whole body. It’s impossible for pills to target one area, so they attack the whole system. But let’s talk about what to do instead of taking prescription medicines, or even vitamins.
Topical treatments are substances that you apply directly to the body or, in this case, the scalp. And not only do topical treatments for hair loss proven to reduce thinning and, in some case, regrow hair, they are plentiful. You can find different treatments such as oils, shampoos, and sprays. All of these treatments come in a variety of brands, with each brand claiming a whole bunch of different proven methods… some true, some exaggerated. But there are definitely benefits to topical treatments!
First, as previously mentioned, topical treatments are applied directly to the scalp. This is a huge benefit in terms of ease of application, but also in terms of knowing what you’re getting. Pills affect the entire body, while if you simply rub an ointment on your scalp, it will only affect the applied area.
Next, these products actually do work! Most are approved by the FDA, and you can read reviews, testimonials, and even videos of people who have used them, making them actually reputable. However, you should always do your research on any topical treatment.
Lastly, the simplicity and affordability of topical treatments way outweighs the prescription drugs. Prescriptions cost quite a bit, sometimes over $100. But topical treatments are at least half that cost most of the time, and can often time last longer. No need to take pills every morning from the pill bottle either. You can simply use a shampoo like you do with a regular shampoo, or rub the ointment on your scalp while getting ready.
These benefits may be objective, and each person will have their wants and needs and will need to evaluate those themselves. But topical treatments are a great way to start your journey of hair restoration. And while you may need more information on things like this, Apollo Hair Replacement of Dallas/Fort Worth can help you figure out which path you want or need to take. We offer free consultations, laser hair therapy, topical treatment advice, and full hair restoration. So don’t waste any more time…

It’s 2019, and while we don’t have flying cars yet, we do have some incredibly advanced technology. Think about your phone. You can do almost anything you want from your phone in your pocket. You can shop, book flights, transfer money from bank accounts, pay your friends, and let’s not forget putting a dog filter on your face when you take pictures! The iPhone came out 12 years ago, and the advancements it has made since then is almost unbelievable. The same goes for treatments for hair loss, specifically laser treatment. But how advanced is laser therapy for hair loss? Let’s talk about the HairMax laser comb and how it can prevent thinning, loss, and can even regrow hair!
So what is the HairMax laser comb? Well, it’s literally a comb. However, it’s much more than that. Laser combs have teeth like a regular comb, but in between those teeth are lasers used for low-level laser therapy (LLLT). While, like anything, LLLT isn’t a “cure”, it’s a proven way to help reduce hair loss and regrow hair. It’s even approved by the FDA! But how does it work?
The HairMax laser comb basically sends infrared heat into your scalp. The teeth on the comb help part the hair while the lasers are working, providing a direct path for laser light to reach your scalp. The laser energy stimulates weakened hair follicles, and increases blood flow and circulation in the scalp. It’s proven to strengthen hair follicles, reduce thinning, and even regrow hair out of a healthier and invigorated scalp. The growth stimulation is a huge deal when considering hair loss treatment. A lot of products simply halt or reduce thinning and hair loss, but the HairMax laser comb actually helps regrow hair! But how do you get LLLT?
Lucky you! Apollo Hair Replacement of Dallas/Fort Worth uses the HairMax laser comb to help both men and women with hair thinning and baldness. You can read more on the HairMax laser comb here, but we highly encourage you call to talk about your hair loss needs to properly diagnose and treat your hair. While the HairMax laser comb is a fantastic tool and remedy for hair loss, there are so many treatments, and the proper treatment is crucial in revitalizing and regrowing your hair!

Chemotherapy is a rigorous process that takes a massive toll on the human body. It causes change in taste buds, extreme weight loss, lethargy, and, in most cases, extreme hair loss. While all these side effects could have a book written about them and the process the body undergoes when on chemo, we’re going to focus on the hair loss effect. So why do you lose hair when going through chemo, and what can you do about it?
People usually start losing noticeable amounts of hair a few weeks into their chemotherapy treatments. While not everyone loses hair, the majority do, but regrowth typically happens after the treatment as well. In some cases, the hair comes back extremely thin, but sometimes people regrow their hair as thick as it was before. Sometimes, regrown hair can have a different texture or natural style. Did you have super curly hair before chemo? It may come back straighter or just wavy. It all depends on the person and is completely unpredictable. However, your doctor can tell you what is to be expected, but those expectations vary and never come to fruition.
Chemotherapy consists of heavy-duty medicines/drugs that attack rapidly dividing cells, such as cancer cells. Unfortunately, cancer cells aren’t the only quickly dividing cells in our body. Hair follicle cells also divide rapidly, and the chemo medications simply can’t differentiate between cancer cells and hair follicle cells, so the medicine attacks all of them. This is what causes the hair to fall out quickly and, in most cases, in chunks. So what can you do about it?
Unfortunately, there isn’t much you can do about the hair loss during chemo. But because the medication is so aggressive, it can cause an itchy, dry, tender scalp. Sensitive skin creams and light shampoos and conditioner can help in this situation. Avoid using harsh chemicals such as dyes, and make sure you use sunscreen on your head when outside. It’s smart to keep these things in mind even after your chemotherapy treatment is over. Taking care of your hair after it undergoes such stress is important for keeping it healthy going forward.
Patience is also a key factor in hair regrowth after chemotherapy. Be patient and gentle with your head and hair, and you will most likely see hair regrowth after a few weeks.
Experiencing thinning or baldness outside of chemotherapy? Call Apollo Hair Replacement today for your free consultation!
Healthy hair on both women and men is considered a sign of beauty, health, and even wealth. Women, did you get that ombre blend lately and want to show it off to everyone? Men, did you go from spikey, Brad-Pitt-in-Fight-Club to the side part 50s do? Lucky you! You’ve got a full head of hair… and people notice. Unfortunately, there’s a huge population men and women who don’t have that luxury due to thinning, receding, or disappearing hair. So what can you do to help your situation? Let’s look at some vitamins and over-the-counter options to help your hair become that healthy, thick mane that you’ve missed out on since your early 20s.
Vitamins play a significant role in your body’s health. That doesn’t just mean your skin, weight, or internal functionality. It also means vitamins are important for your hair. Hair needs nutrients to remain healthy, and multiple types of vitamins can offer those nutrients. Of course, age, genetics and hormones can affect hair loss and growth, but with an intake of the right nutrients, you can slow or even stop hair loss.
B-vitamin, or biotin, can be significantly helpful in restoring, regrowing, and thickening your hair. Conversely, a deficiency in biotin can sometimes cause hair loss. It’s linked to keratin production, and you lack keratin, you could lose hair. Biotin can make your hair grow stronger and thicker, and you can get it over the counter!
Vitamin A is crucial for all cells, not excluding hair. It help grow cells, but too much can be hazardous to your hair and other cells. Consult a doctor or do some research on this topic, but you definitely need vitamin A in your diet.
Vitamin C is an antioxidant. Our bodies naturally produce free radicals, causing damage to hair follicles. This is a huge factor in hair loss in millions of people. Vitamin C counters those free radicals and prevents them from forming at all. This helps reduce hair loss and improves the health and thickness of hair.
Vitamins D has been researched a ton, and experts say it could actually create new hair follicles on your scalp. Research also shows that most people don’t get enough vitamin D, so whether it be getting outside more or taking over-the-counter pills, make sure you get your Vitamin D, and maybe your hair will reap the benefits.
These are just some of the vitamins you can take to increase hair growth or, at least, help stop it from leaving your head. Another good idea is to monitor your zinc, iron, and protein levels… all of which you can buy supplements for!
If these remedies don’t work, you can always reach out to Apollo Hair Replacement of Dallas/Fort Worth!

30 years ago, thinning hair called for shaving your head or rockin’ a sweet combover. But science and technology have come a long way since then. If your notice your going bald, seeing a little more scalp than you’re comfortable with, or notice patchy spots on your head, you might still have hope! Most people think that losing your hair, even with Male Pattern Baldness, is the end of the line for hope. But it’s actually been tested and proven over the years that regrowing hair is possible! A lot of people just accept it. A lot of people do everything to hang on. Whichever person you might be, there’s hope if you want it. But your hair won’t grow back without taking action. You’ll need to be dedicated, routine, and proactive.
Prescription drugs like Finasteride and Minoxidil are go-to approaches for stopping hair loss and regrowing it. Finally, hair laser treatment is an effective way to prevent hair loss and regrow hair. Using lasers, like the HairMax Laser Comb, stimulates the hair follicles, increasing blood flow and circulation on the scalp. Laser therapy can also strengthen currently weak strands and follicles.
If all else fails, you could look into a hair transplant surgery. Not everyone is a candidate, but you’ll never know if you don’t call Apollo Hair Replacement of Dallas/Fort Worth!
